You don't have to join a society or pay money at all.

The Anthroposophical Society is not wealthy at all. For one thing the membership worldwide is very small and has been that way for years. For another it is not a religion. If it was it would be in a much better financial situation!

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/anthroposophy/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28858096.post-16620156560116639142007-12-31T12:09:00.000-05:002007-12-31T12:09:00.000-05:00Anon (perhaps two?): I'm blogging at anthromama.wo...Anon (perhaps two?): I'm blogging at anthromama.wordpress.org now, but I thought I would respond to your comments. I did a post over there on the "cult" issue, so I won't go into that here. I've also commented elsewhere about the racism issue.

There are anthroposophists who still believe that there are things that should remain "esoteric." I think this is erroneous given Steiner's repeated statements that esotericism is no longer necessary or desirable.

My experience is that anthroposophists are just like the rest of the population: some are rich, and some are not. Most of the people I have known and met here in the US have been somewhere in the middle, including people fairly "high up" in the US Anthro. Society. Most Waldorf teachers are not wealthy, by virtue of the fact that they are not typically paid well! If people are wealthy, it's because they have obtained their wealth in the "mainstream" world.

As for fundraising, yes, there are very wealthy people who donate a lot of money to anthro. endeavors. And there are people who donate pittances, because they want to do what they can. Again, most of the anthroposophists I know are somewhere in the middle. Fundraising at Waldorf schools often is quite large, but that I would say is a function of the overall parent population: people who can afford to send their children to private school.Henitsirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430635582414038738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28858096.post-65016495593236775892007-12-31T08:37:00.000-05:002007-12-31T08:37:00.000-05:00Anthroposophists are very reluctant to speak openl...Anthroposophists are very reluctant to speak openly- they block information on the internet whenever they can. People are being blocked on youtube right now- they really don't want people to know their true agenda. It is to help children re incarnate for the greater good of human kind. Their beliefs are religious and cult like- and I do know what I'm talking about. There are a few main players who know the full story- and are well versed in selling the holistic child centred education to people disillusioned with mainstream.
Hey- their views are also suspiciously racist- supremecy of the aryan race is well covered up. They have occult overtones too. And as a self named esoteric society- only a few have full knowledge- they can always explain things by saying unless you have the full anthro knowledge you can't know what you're talking about.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28858096.post-25508788876577022132007-12-05T08:26:00.000-05:002007-12-05T08:26:00.000-05:00There is a whole world of "deep thought" in this w...There is a whole world of "deep thought" in this world that most people do not understand or even try to understand or even think about.
We should all try to broaden our minds, spirits so that as we live out our lives,we do it in the fullest way possible.
When we do this we become wise and not just educated.
Your "deep thought" goes so far back in time that it's almost impossible to trace.
