A Love List

This time last year and this year Charlotte has mentioned how much she loves and appreciates her husband. I've been thinking along the same lines recently -- about Anthropapa, not Mr. Otter.

What I love about Anthropapa

1) He is very thoughtful and considerate. The other day after I wrote about my little obsession with Iceland, we received our next Netflix movie, which was a travel DVD about...Iceland!

2) He keeps me in chocolate. I never ask for it, but he's always buying me supplies for my secret stash when he goes to the store.

3) He can fix pretty much anything. As I write this, he's right behind me taking apart our cordless phone to see why the display isn't displaying.

4) He can make pretty much anything. Anthropapa has sewn articles of clothing, knitted a hat, built wooden bookshelves, and made animatronic puppets and props for films!

5) He is a wonderful cook. He made our entire Thanksgiving dinner, including a pumpkin pie from scratch. He also widened my food horizons from the start, helping me discover sushi, Indian food, and the wonders of scrapple.

6) He loves our kids, and tries to be the best Papa possible.

7) He has a beautiful voice, knows a lot about music, and has encouraged me to just get over it and sing so that I can improve my ear. Which I have, thanks to him.

8) He has a big soft spot for cats and dogs.

9) He takes his work very seriously, and feels personally responsible for the success of his workplace.

10) He doesn't complain when I write NaBloPoMo posts instead of talking to him!

A love list is such a good thing to do, and Anthropapa sounds multi-talented and wonderful.

Theo told me to definitely read your blog today. He said before I even opened it: "She sets a fine example!" :-))))
Do you think he wants to read a love list about himself?

I can see your son looks like Anthropapa! It is great to have a man that can cook - especially pumpkin pie, yum yum. I'm the only person who cooks around here and I can't do pumpkin pie. I have an American cookery book and some of the recipes call for "pumpkin pie spice". Wah! So delicious! Needless to say, that is not available in the shops here. Hey, can you send Anthropapa over here to fix our microwave?!

Helen,
Hungary has no pumpkin pie spice either. Mollie Katzen's recipe calls for: 1/2 tsp. cloves or allspice (we only have cloves here), 1 1/2 to 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 1/2 to 2 tsp powdered ginger. This is for one pie-filling. And my husband says it is totally authentic.

What a coinkydink...those are all the same reasons we love him so much too. Well, except number 2. Good to know that the chocolate that he's holding out on us is going to a good place. He is a wonderful man and a great father, and well deserves such a wonderful woman and great mother as you are.

Charlotte: He is!

Szilvi: I think so!

Helen: Yes, my son looks very much like his father's side of the family. I'll bet you could make a wonderful pumpkin pie. I usually don't use the spice mix, but do as Szilvi suggests...I also recommend nutmeg in it.

Papa B: You are too nice...or maybe you're just buttering me up for some of my chocolate?

Just love him because he is himself!

I have a man who cooks too. It is a truly wonderful thing! What a great idea. I think I will close November with a love list; it will be a great way to finish up NaBloPoMo.
